MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and the National Privacy Commission (NPC) will launch a campaign against privacy violations online. It is called the Digital Security and Privacy Quick Response (DSPQR) Project. The two agencies signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) on Wednesday. “The MOA between NPC and DICT is a significant step towards ensuring the digital security and privacy of our fellow Filipinos,” NPC commissioner John Naga said. The accord states NPC will process cybersecurity threats and other data privacy issues reported through the Consumer Complaint Center, Contact Center ng Bayan, and the National Computer Emergency Response Team. DICT will provide resources for the initiative and form a framework for its implementation. “We encourage our citizens to be vigilant and proactive in safeguarding their digital well-being,” DICT Secretary Ivan Uy said.
