MANILA, Philippines — The northeasterly, shear line and localized thunderstorms are seen to cause rain in various parts of the country this Friday. Portions of northern Luzon may experience cloudy skies with rain because of the northeasterly wind flow, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa). These areas are the provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao, and Kalinga, the Ilocos Region, the rest of the Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley, it noted. The shear line and localized thunderstorms, on the other hand, are predicted to bring cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms in Metro Manila, Central Luzon, and the rest of the country. READ: Pagasa: Shear line to bring cloudy skies, rain showers to east of southern Luzon In its previous report, Pagasa explained that the shear line is the convergence of northeasterly wind flow and warm winds from the Pacific Ocean. Pagasa likewise reported during its Friday morning forecast that state meteorologists are not seeing any low-pressure area nor tropical depression within the Philippine area of responsibility. READ: Pagasa: No typhoon likely to develop in or outside of PAR until Sunday It said it is not raising any gale warning over the country’s seaboards on Friday. However, it advised sailors to take precautionary measures because northern Luzon coasts may have moderate to rough sea conditions. kga/abc
