MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) has recorded 1,252 new cases of COVID-19 nationwide from Oct. 9 to 15, which is 1 percent lower than the 1,264 logged last week. Citing its national COVID-19 case bulletin, DOH said the figure recorded from Oct. 2 to 8 went down by 12 cases. It also noted that the current figure of 1,252 — translated to a daily average of 179. Of the new infections, DOH reported that 1.60 percent — or 20 patients — were categorized under severe and critical cases, while five verified deaths occurred in the past two weeks, from Oct. 2 to 15.
