BFAR: Closed fishing season for galunggong in Palawan starts
MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) said that closed fishing season for round scad, locally called galunggong, has started in Northern Palawan. Based on the Philippine Fisheries Code of 1988, closed fishing season refers to the period wherein catching certain fish species using specified gear is prohibited in some areas.
