BIR to social media influencers: Pay taxes or face charges


MANILA, Philippines — Social media influencers have been ignoring notices from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) for them to voluntarily comply with tax laws, prompting the agency to consider filing tax evasion cases against them. The BIR earlier said it was relying on the influencers’ voluntary compliance as taxing them “might take some time”
