Chinese carmaker BYD faces Indian tax investigation


China's largest electric vehicle (EV) maker, BYD, faces allegations of tax evasion on imported car parts used in the vehicles assembled by the company in India, according to sources familiar with the matter. The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has alleged that BYD underpaid tax of 730 million rupees (USD 9m), although the automaker has since deposited that sum.
