Ford set to build more EV software abilities in Chennai


The company, which currently employs 12,000 people at its Chennai hub, will add another 3,000 heads in the next two-three years as it adds more electric vehicle-oriented applications for its global EV platforms, said Mike Amend, chief enterprise tech officer, Ford Motor Company. “We’re building and designing new manufacturing lines for electric vehicles in Chennai which will use VR/AR to model and simulate assembly line flow and this is being done for our new EV platform manufacturing,” he added.
