House bill seeks to free farmers, fishermen from bondage of debt


The House Committee on Agrarian Reform has passed a bill seeking to free farmers, fisherfolk, and agrarian reform beneficiaries from the "bondage of debt" by granting them the opportunity to regain access to government and commercial credit facilities through the condonation of unpaid interests, penalties, and surcharges on their existing loans obtained through government lending programs.
