Phivolcs monitors 2,491 aftershocks in Surigao del Sur after strong quake
MANILA, Philippines — State seismologists recorded almost 2,500 aftershocks following the 7.4 magnitude earthquake off Hinatuan Municipality in Surigao del Sur over the weekend. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said that 2,491 aftershocks with strength ranging from magnitude 1.4 to 6.6 were logged in the province as of 7:00 a.m., December 5.
