Shabu worth P1.8M seized from 8 suspects in Laguna, Quezon

LUCENA CITY — Police seized more than P1.8 million worth of shabu (crystal meth) from eight suspected drug pushers arrested in Laguna and Quezon provinces on Wednesday, Oct. 11. The Region 4A police reported on Thursday that the drug enforcement unit in Cabuyao City and Laguna police intelligence operatives nabbed at 1:12 p.m. four suspects identified by their aliases as “Amino,” “Jalilah,” “Normalah,” and “Jalil” in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Niugan. The police seized from the suspects five sealed plastic bags containing meth weighing 130 grams with a Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P884,000. The police classified “Amino” as a “high-value” target in the local drug trade, while his three cohorts were identified as street-level pushers. At 6:24 p.m., the same team of law enforcers arrested three more drug suspects—“Camalodin,” “Hermi,” and “Geraldo”— in Barangay Sala. The police found the suspects with eight sachets of shabu weighing 60 grams and worth P408,000 as per DDB valuation. Authorities also seized three mobile phones in the twin operations, which will be subjected to digital forensic examinations for records of drug transactions. In this city, police anti-narcotics agents busted at 9:20 p.m. one alias “Eric/Fred,” 43, after he sold P10,000 worth of shabu to a poseur buyer in Barangay Ilayang Isabang, said Colonel Ledon Monte, Quezon police chief, in a separate report. The cops caught the suspect, also classified as a “high-value” target in the government’s drug war, in possession of four sachets of meth weighing 75 grams with a DDB value of P510,000. Authorities in Laguna and Quezon are tracking the source of the illegal drugs. All arrested suspects are under police custody and face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
