Speaker mourns lawmaker’s death
MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives mourned the passing of Cavite Rep. Elpidio Barzaga Jr., described as a great legal mind by his colleagues. In a statement, Speaker Martin Romualdez said, “We are deeply saddened by Cong Pidi’s passing. The House of Representatives has just lost a great legal thinker and a smart number-cruncher.”
