Tata to make EVs at Sanand Plant from April, may launch Curvv EV, Harrier EV later this year


Tata Motors plans to start electric vehicle production at the Sanand plant from April, acquiring the facility from Ford India. The company will begin with the production of Nexon EV and has plans to introduce Curvv EV and Harrier EV. Tata Motors aims to grow better than the industry, targeting a 5% growth in the passenger vehicle industry. Extending FAME benefits to personal electric cars and addressing the issue of inverted duty structure in EVs are on the company's Budget wishlist. Tata Motors welcomes competition in the EV space and seeks a level playing field.
