US BPO firm expands office in Quezon City

Leading US-based business process outsourcing (BPO) company Afni added a new floor to its Fairview office in Quezon City as part of its strategy to scale up its operations in response to growing client demands for customer support services. Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, who reaffirmed her support for the burgeoning BPO industry in the city, which plays a vital role in the city’s economic growth and development by providing employment opportunities for city residents, joined Afni executives in a ribbon-cutting ceremony at SMT4, the newly expanded site. Afni, now on its 10th year in Quezon City, employs more than 8,000 individuals in the Philippines, a majority of whom reside in Quezon City. Khalid Khursheed, Afni vice president for operations and Philippine country manager, expressed gratitude for Belmonte’s support, which enabled Afni to expand its operations in the city. The expanded SMT4 site, covering over 100,000 square feet across five floors, currently accommodates more than 4,000 employees. The new floor will be able to house a thousand more employees in the future. Designed with employee well-being in mind, the office features dedicated game rooms, arcade areas and an open-air common area, providing a conducive and engaging work environment. —RUSSEL P. LORETO
